During the 106th Congress Annual Session held in 2011, the Health Outreach and Prevention Education Initiative (H.O.P.E.) was launched.  African Americans are disproportionately affected by many preventable disease processes.  This program aims to bring HOPE to our communities as we take actions that will dramatically improve our health and positively impact our total well-being.Under the leadership of Congress President Dr. George W. Waddles, Sr., Dr. Michael O. Minor, Special Assistant to the President of the Congress for Health Initiatives, and Sister Evelyn Mason, National Health Fair Director are leading the development of this program for the purposes of providing health education, screening, program information and other resources to our members.

The National Baptist Congress H.O.P.E. Initiative is a member of the national partnership for Action to End Health Disparities, United States Department of Health & Human Services Office of Minority Health.
