2021 Oratorical Guidelines

Thank you so much for your patience with the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. – Congress of Christian Education (NBC) and the NBC Oratorical Committee as we worked extremely diligently to put together revised guidelines for this year’s virtual contest.

The guidelines and application are complete! The guidelines are attached here. However, please note, this year, out of an abundance of caution, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, contestants will electronically access and submit the application by selecting the “Apply Now” button in the guidelines. If you are unable to access the application form by selecting “Apply Now” in the guidelines, there is a link here. Further, as you will notice in the guidelines, contestants will submit/upload their speech to an online portal drive, it will be reviewed by judges, scored and then streamed virtually during the National Baptist Congress where the winners will be announced.

Respectfully, before submitting your questions, please thoroughly review this year’s guidelines as your question may be answered there.

Please Note: Due to an abundance of caution arising from the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 National Baptist Contest was canceled. The circumstances were beyond the control of the Congress but we believe God knows best. Please note, no possible contestants from the 2020 competition are eligible to participate in the 2021 contest as contestants must be graduating high school seniors. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding as we navigate unchartered territory.

Thank you so much for your patience.
