Congress of Christian Education Annual Session

The National Baptist Congress of Christian Education Annual Session is the education arm of the NBC, USA, Inc., and is responsible for teaching and training classes in every aspect of Christian Education. This meeting, attended by 30,000 delegates, is held each year in June at various locations throughout the United States.  A selection of more than 300 classes equip Christian education leaders with the necessary information and teaching techniques to fulfill their respective roles in their local ministries with excellence. The delegates may graduate or receive a Certificate of Progress after a prescribed program of study or simply take classes for general continuing education.  In addition to the national Annual Session, each state convention or local district may also be certified to sponsor classes and offer classes at other times throughout the year.

From the President's Desk - May 2013

Grace and Joy to you………

We are so grateful to God for the privilege of gathering together once again as a corporate body of believers in Christ Jesus. We have seen God’s powerful work in Christian Education through the efforts of the National Baptist Congress.

Last year, we held our annual session in St. Louis, MO with representation from 2,091 churches from across this country. 15, 104 delegates attended classes, showing our deep and abiding commitment to strengthening our churches, districts, States and National body through effective Christian Education.

The National Baptist Congress of Christian Education is blessed to have dedicated and committed staff and faculty members that have been willing to work diligently to ensure that this year’s Annual Session will be a life-changing and spiritual experience for each delegate. We are excited that we will be returning to St. Louis for the 108th Annual Session during the week of June 16-21, 2013. This is an opportunity for learning and fellowship that you will not want to miss. Our theme will be “Solidarity with the Savior through His Works”—Matthew 5:16; John 10:32; Titus 2:14; Hebrews 13:21.

As President of the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education, I am most grateful for the privilege of serving Christ and the Congress and for the dedicated support that you continue to show as a member of this great body. We are asking every National Baptist Congress delegate to join us in prayer that God will continue to bless our efforts as we endeavor to glorify Him through the work of Christian education; not only during our Annual Session, but in our efforts throughout the year.

Please register TODAY and plan to meet us in the “Show Me State” for this dynamic Annual Session. This year will be an exciting year with a line-up of preachers and speakers that includes Roland Martin, former CNN Commentator, who will be the keynote speaker for the President’s Educational Banquet and Rev. Robert Smith, who will be the keynote speaker for the Faculty Banquet. This year we will also present our first annual A.L.P. Shepherd Award, named in honor of Dr. A. Louis Patterson, Jr. who will be the first recipient of this prestigious award. The preacher for that occasion will be Dr. Ralph West of Houston, TX.

Housing information is now available and you are encouraged to contact the housing department to secure your hotel reservation as soon as possible. If you have questions or need any additional information please contact our General Secretary by email at:djohnson@nationalbaptist.com.
