To Oklahoma Tornado Victims: A Home Mission Board Message of Encouragement & Support

June 4, 2013

On behalf of the Home Mission Board of the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. we want to express our prayers and resources to any efforts of relief and recovery to our brothers and sisters in the tornado-impacted territories of Oklahoma. Pictures of the devastation once again cause us to pause in shared pain and dismay as we catch our breath. As Peter and John stated to the lame man that was set daily at the gate of the beautiful temple of God, "Silver and gold have I none, but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk."

We extend Christ's right hand to you in brotherly love and the fellowship of suffering. May God quicken the day you will be lifted up, leap up and walk in praise through His empowering grace.

The Home Mission Board, as a partner in our National Baptist Convention's Office of Disaster Management's seamless approach to natural disasters, stands ready and willing to work to hasten that day of full recovery.

In Solidarity with You & the Savior,

Rev. Gilbert Pickett, Chairman

Rev. Charles Mock, Executive Secretary
