Greenhouse will make difference, supporters say

A "hoop house" greenhouse under construction in Davenport will make a difference in the neighborhoods around the Hilltop Campus Village.

A group of churches is collaborating on the effort, and the structure is being raised on the east side of First Baptist Church, 1401 Perry St. Fresh produce from it will be made available free to area residents...

The People Uniting Neighbors and Churches, or PUNCH, organization will help supply volunteers, but aid from neighbors, and throughout the area, also is welcome.

The PUNCH churches are First Baptist, First Christian Church, Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, First Presbyterian Church, Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. John's United Methodist Church and Third Missionary Baptist Church...
