Remembering Dr. Willis C. Thomas
With great sadness, we bring you the news of Dr. W. C. Thomas’s death. We remember our beloved brother’s dedicated service to his Lord and are comforted by knowing that even in our mourning we can offer God the praise described in 1 Peter 1:3: “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”
Dr. Thomas served our National Baptist Congress with dedication and religious fervor as Lecturer in the Department of Church Ministries. He was an active evangelist, teaching and preaching in churches across the United States.
The Family Viewing hour will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2012, 6– 8 pm. The Funeral Service and Celebration of Dr. Thomas’s life will be held Thursday, June 7, 2012, at the Canaan Missionary Baptist Church, 5191 Hoover Avenue (Keith A. Byars Sr. Way) Dayton, Ohio. Dr. George W. Waddles Sr., President of our National Baptist Congress of Christian Education will deliver the eulogy.
Survived by his wife of twenty-six years, Mrs. Mary Thomas of Dayton, OH; sons Talmadge J'Von (Aronda) Toledo, Ohio, Illya Torrance (Patricia) Cincinnati, OH and Tegitra Kareem (Meachelle) Grambling, Louisiana. Please remember the family in prayer.
